About this event
Barre: The Burn & The Beat Think it’s just "ballet"? Think again. Forget the slow-paced stretching—this is a high-intensity, low-impact metabolic conditioning class designed to find your limit and push past it. We blend the precision of Pilates, the discipline of ballet, and the grit of functional strength training into a relentless, 32-count rhythmic sequence. Why it’s a Challenge: The Science: We use high repetitions and isometric holds to fatigue muscles you didn’t know you had. The Tools: We utilize body weight, hand weights, rings, and resistance bands to keep the tension high and the heart rate up. The Consistency: We keep the same routine for 2–4 weeks so you can move past learning the moves and start mastering the intensity. Note: This is not a yoga class. While we prioritize community and levity, we are here to put in serious work. It’s not heated, but between the "burn" and the upbeat playlist, you’ll be glad it isn’t. Help us cultivate a space where ALL feel welcome! Arrive Early Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to settle in. Doors will lock at class time for safety and to protect belongings in the cubbies. Teachers typically open the studio about 15 minutes before class, possibly earlier (remember, they’re human!). Water Bottles Must Have Lids Otherwise, please leave them on the cubbies. Practice Personal Hygiene Be mindful of strong perfumes/scents, body odor, and bring clean mats and towels. Remove Shoes No shoes on the studio floor, please. Regarding Large Items Please use the cubbies unless the class calls for bolsters. Keep walkways clear for instructors and for everyone’s safety. Regarding Phones (Please Silence Them/Smart Watches — You Deserve This Time to Unplug!) Store devices in the cubbies. If you’re on call, let the instructor know and keep your device face down and on vibrate. Be Mindful of Space Place mats thoughtfully. Avoid stepping on others’ mats or belongings. Honor Your Body Choose posture variations that suit your body each day. Even if the instructor doesn’t cue a prop, feel free to grab one! Tight shoulders? Use a strap. Tight hamstrings? Grab one or two blocks. Props are for YOU — this is your practice. Respect the Quiet Once class begins, please keep voices low and conversation minimal. Stay for Savasana Final relaxation is essential. If you must leave early, inform the teacher before class starts and exit quietly. Respect the Props Please Return props and equipment mindfully after use. Kindness is Key Greet others warmly. This is more than a room — it’s a community. We Respect Those Who Need Non-Social Moments Our community can be lively, especially before class. If you feel overstimulated or need quiet, take child’s pose or sit in silent meditation. If someone is in a quiet posture, don’t take it personally — please respect their space.
